I'm unable to create custom shortcuts using Alt and any underlined letter from the main menu (File, Edit, view, etc). So Alt+[F,E,V,I,L,S,R,T,N,W,H] are unavailable. For example, if I try setting a shortcut to Alt+H I get the error message: "The key sequence 'Alt+S' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered." Without a shortcut assignment, Alt+H opens the help menu. I don't see any way to alter or override that behavior. Tested and confirmed in both Windows 7 and Windows 10 using Krita 3.1.2.1
Hi Robert, I'm afraid that this isn't a bug, but the way Qt works. We cannot change that except by not having the standard menu accelerators defined at all.
We just checked and other applications like photoshop also don't allow this; though they do show a warning about invalid shortcuts. We need to create a warning system for invalid shortcuts anyway, but that's part of bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329663 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 329663 ***
