A few months ago kmail started to silently fail to send emails, they still appear in the outbox. For a while I worked around this issue by opening the email from the outbox and click the button to send it. After a few weeks of this, those email would reappear in the outbox as if they were not sent, and opening them to send them would stall kmail until I stopped and restarted akonadi. According to the recipients sometimes they received nothing, sometimes they received several duplicates (each for one of my attempt). Now trying to open the emails stuck in the outbox shows a "retrieving folder contents" page and a small box with a progress bar and only a cancel button saying "please wait while the message is trasnfered". And it just stay stuck like that. Those messages being in local folders this message does not make much sense. Expected behaviour: - clicking the send button would actually send the email each and every time - trying to open a message from the outbox would actually open it and not stall forever.
Just noticed that the status bar shows a truncated message "unable to fetch item from backend (collection -1) : unable to retrieve item from resource : did not receive a ..."
