Created attachment 104693 [details] KInfocenter screenshot Using openSUSE Tumbleweed with kinfocenter5-5.9.3-1.1. Here are the packages I have installed: $ zypper info plasma5-desktop | grep Version Version : 5.9.3-2.1 $ zypper info plasma-framework | grep Version Version : 5.31.0-1.1 Yet KInfocenter shows: KDE Plasma Version: 5.9.2 KDE Frameworks Version 5.3.10
This is affecting at least one other person as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/60wxef/whens_kde_plasma_593_expected_to_arrive_on/dfa26gp/
$ plasmashell --version plasmashell 5.9.3 So that reports the correct version, too
Okay, so plasmaVersion() looks at /usr/share/xsessions/plasma.desktop, and sure enough: grep Version /usr/share/xsessions/plasma5.desktop X-KDE-PluginInfo-Version=5.9.2 So it's not KInfocenter's fault, but rather whichever package/component is responsible for updating the plasma5.desktop file.
Which version of kinfocenter do you have installed?
kinfocenter5-5.9.3-1.1 However it looks like that file comes from plasma5-session, and indeed, I still have the old version of it: $ zypper info plasma5-session | grep Version Version : 5.9.2-1.1 Is this a KDE issue, or a SUSE packaging issue?
plasma5-session is an openSUSE package. Please report this issue directly to the bug tracker of your distribution.
Thanks Christoph! I've filed https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1030559 And I just want to mention how impressed I've been with the responsiveness of the KDE team on Bugzilla tickets, yourself included. It's really refreshing. Keep up the awesome work!
