Description Hank Ingles 2017-03-19 16:01:19 UTC
The program Crashes/closes when there is signal bleep. Used this for years with no problem, Since Ubuntu MATE, 16.04, 10 has this problem. Used to just wait or I pick another channel. TV tuners sorely lacking in Linux.

Changed Kaffeine's logic to offer all options that libVLC accept for Aspect Ratio. Changing it won't affect the scale anymore.

Also, replaced the non-working logic that were trying to resize the video window according with the size of the video, by a logic that manually sets the video size. I added several values, from 25% to 300% of the original video size.

Both video display settings are under the Playback->Video menu (or at the mouse context, at the ->Video sub-menu):

	- Aspect Ratio - selects the aspect ratio
	- Video Size - let select between automatic scaling to fit at the window, or to manually select the scaling factor.

Sorry, please ignore my comment. This was supposed to be for another BZ.

Could you please test version 2.0.9? There are a number of changes out there since version 2.0.1.

From your report, you're using version 2.0.1, right? Could you please try a newer version? There were lots of bug fixes since then. If the bug still happens, please provide debug logs from when the issues are happening.

OK. Thank you. Silly but writing some short stories and like to have TV on
while writing. Or doing other tasks. Much prefer using Linux. "Media
Center" is excellent for live TV but have to deal with The Windows other
hassles.

Could you please test if the bug still happens on Kaffeine 2.0.13?
Comment 6 Mauro Carvalho Chehab 2018-02-20 20:24:25 UTC
I was unable to reproduce this bug myself, and it was reported to a very old Kaffeine 2.x version (2.0.1). Since then, lots of bugs got solved.

As nobody else reported any similar issue, I suspect that this was solved on newer versions.

If it still happens on Kaffeine 2.0.14, feel free to reopen, providing us with more details and log info.
