Description Adrian 2017-03-18 09:34:39 UTC
I have problem with ma Plasma desktop running on wayland.
It's work really good, but sometime desktop flickering. It's look like some problem with refreshing or something like that, everything blinking when I switching between applications.

I have some similar flickering/artifacts in:

Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition Unstable Branches live iso 20170813
KDE Plasma Version: 5.10.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.37.0
Qt Version: 5.9.1
Kernel Version: 4.10.0-32-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Video Card: Intel 4500MHD

That happens not exactly when switching between windows - but it seems to happen upon various other activities too: moving, minimizing, maximizing windows, etc.

Reproducibility: Rarely
Comment 2 Alexander Mentyu 2017-08-17 15:35:08 UTC
I noticed flickering happens sometimes upon activity in Kate - saving/editing files.
Comment 3 Alexander Mentyu 2017-08-18 06:50:39 UTC
Also i noticed flickering from time to time upon activity in Konsole and there is also rare flickering when there is no input from user side.
Comment 4 Adrian 2017-08-18 06:56:09 UTC
Probably flickering can be generated random by any software. When it's start, then is impossible to fix in. Only restarting wayland can stop it.

I have ASUS N56VZ laptop with NVIDIA card, using NOUVEAU driver. Previously secondary monitor was always connected to laptop and all works OK. But when I disconnected that secondary monitor then this flickering and "hangs" (delayed screen update while showing several frames old picture or picture from midway of animation) starts to happen.

It's working really nicely for me in Plasma 5.21, no flickering. Is anyone able to reproduce the issue with this version or a newer one?
