Created attachment 104522 [details] KDE su Window Hangs Trying to Run partitionmanager KDE neon LTS User Edition 5.8 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kdesu 5.8.6 To reproduce: Install partitionmanager (at version 3.0.1) Run partitionmanager from application launcher or terminal in an unprivileged user session In the KDE su dialog that comes up, enter the privileged administrative user's password and click OK button. Expected: Clicking OK should cause a password check and execute the given command if the password provided matches the privileged admin user password. Actual: KDE su window hangs without executing the program, the OK button stays highlighted. Attempting to close the kdesu window results in a Application "kdesu" is not responding message window.
Still an issue with kdesu 5.8.7
KDE 5.13.5 Still hangs after configuring kdesu to use sudo (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/sudo#kdesu) and entering admin sudo user password. This is possibly a duplicate of bug #389049
Does it only hang when you enter the wrong password? Or also when you enter the right password?
This was entering the correct password for the privileged user.
cannot confirm on Arch Linux with partition manager 3.3.1 after configuring kdesu to use sudo as mentioned in the link from comment 2
How much do we care about this now that partittionmanager does not use kdesu?
