I haven't subtitles on tv from dvb-c although I had it in Kaffeine 1.2.2 few days ago.
It is from Kaffeine.
There are several bugs on Kaffeine related to subtitles that got fixed up to Kaffeine version 2.0.5. So, if you're running Kaffeine 2.0.1, as you reported when you opened this BZ, upgrading it to a newer version should fix it. The current version is Kaffeine 2.0.9: http://download.kde.org/stable/kaffeine/2.0.9/src/kaffeine-2.0.9-1.tar.xz.mirrorlist If the bug still remains after the upgrade, I'll need a sample of a video that is known to have subtitles, recorded with dvbv5-zap: https://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Dvbv5-zap#Recording_the_full_MPEG_stream_on_a_transponder
I've got Kaffeine 2.0.9 and I checked Kaffeine 2.0.1 because there wasn't option Kaffeine 2.0.9. It works - I didn't check on window menu but only Ubuntu menu bar.
I have subtitles only on ZDF HD and other channels don't have it.
It's not work on channels with subtitles from teletext. I haven't checked every channel.
(In reply to Wabi from comment #5) > It's not work on channels with subtitles from teletext. I haven't checked > every channel. Kaffeine uses libVlc for display. It is reponsible to decode, among other things, subtitles. Unfortunately, currently, libVlc doesn't support teletext.
