Description William L. Thomson Jr. 2017-03-07 19:37:00 UTC
When I am reading a long email, below the message list, not opening the email in a new window. If I scroll down. Then I switch to another email in the list. The scroll position does not reset to the top. It seems to end up further down in the next message. I am constantly scrolling to the top of the newly selected message. I do not believe it always did this, but I cannot recall 100%.

KMail Version 5.4.2
KDE Frameworks 5.31.0
Qt 5.7.1 (built against 5.7.1)
The xcb windowing system

Seems this is not consistent. After closing and re-opening kmail2 for other reasons. It seems to be resetting scroll. Not sure what I can do or did for it to stop scrolling. I will see if I can replicate. It has happened many times before.

I think this is occurring when a message deleted is larger than the next. It seems to occur when I have a list of emails. I am at the bottom of the list, oldest email, not sure if that matters. I open an email, scroll to the bottom. I delete that email so it moves to the next oldest, last one in list. At that point the scroll bar is still at the bottom. If the next message is larger than the one I deleted, the scrollbar resets. But if the next email after deleted is smaller it seems to not reset the scrollbar position. Or something to that effect.

I'm not the original reporter, but I sometimes (rarely) see this problem - maybe once per week (with >50 mails per day). Unfortunately so far I didn't find a pattern or explanation why this happens.
