qapt-deb-installer/xenial-updates,now 3.0.2-0ubuntu1.1 amd64 KDE neon LTS User Edition 5.8 Steps to Reproduce: With other programs open (e.g. Firefox), install a DEB package with the QApt Deb Installer output window displayed. Go to the other program window (fullscreen) and use the program. At the end of the install when the Close button is selected on the window, the QApt installer seems to be intercepting the keyboard input even if it isn't the active window; the typing cursor is shown in the other program, but I am unable to type anything until I close the QApt installer window. Expected QApt installer not to be hooking or looking for keyboard input upon installation so that I can continue to use other programs while installing a DEB package.

This is a grave issue for users of f.e. a fullscreen terminal, as the qapt-installer locks on to keyboard focus.. very hard to get out of this situation (kill terminal via ssh, switch to VT or just shoot down X11 with CTRLALTBACKSPACE). It seems https://invent.kde.org/system/libqapt/-/blame/master/utils/qapt-deb-installer/DebInstaller.cpp#L151 is the cause, I've opened a merge request at https://invent.kde.org/system/libqapt/-/merge_requests/4 ..
Why (and by whom?) was the qapt project archived? It doesn't show on https://invent.kde.org/system/libqapt/activity ...
because it is unmaintained.
