Description North 2017-03-03 02:46:52 UTC
System Settings > Appearance > Application Style > Widget Style. Changing the widget style does not take effect. I have tried with the Fusion and Oxygen widget styles. Those styles use ticked or checked boxes to indicate when an option is selected. The Breeze style uses coloured boxes and that continues notwithstanding the choice of another widget style.
Comment 1 Christoph Feck 2017-03-03 03:09:02 UTC
It works here. Some random comments:

- Make sure you are actually changing the style for the correct Qt version. For Qt5 applications, start systemsettings5, for Qt4 applications, "kcmshell4 colors" or "kcmshell4 style".

- Please also check if the files ~/.config/kdeglobals (for Qt5) or ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals (for Qt4) are writable and contain the changes you made.
Comment 2 North 2017-03-03 09:08:47 UTC
An example is the dialogue which appears when you open a .csv document using the Calc application of LibreOffice or OpenOffice. The default options in the dialogue are filled with colour instead of containing a tick or check mark. Uploading a .csv document here is not permitted.
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2017-03-03 12:38:38 UTC
Neither LibreOffice nor OpenOpenoffice are KDE applications.
Comment 4 North 2017-03-06 05:04:05 UTC
Answering comment #2 first, can anyone suggest a KDE application which would demonstrate the widget style in use?

Answering comment #3, the file ~/.config/kdeglobals is writable. The ~/.kde4 'folder' is a link to the folder ~/.kde.
Comment 5 North 2017-03-06 05:23:52 UTC
My reference to comment #2 should have referred to comment #1.
Comment 6 North 2017-03-06 21:58:52 UTC
The problem is seen in Dolphin. I did not realise the widget style is supposed to apply only to KDE applications.

If this is not fixed yet, can you please upload a screenshot?
