After disabling the journal component a click on the To-do List icon on the left shows up the calendar component. I think it matters in which order you disable components and now I managed to disable journal, too without destroying the To-do List.
Can anyone reproduce this? It still affects me.

confirmed the same behavior in Kontact Version 5.9.3 kde neon KDE Frameworks 5.53.0 Qt 5.11.2 (built against 5.11.2) go to contact settings untick journal press apply press ok click to do and the calendar appears go back to settings and re-enable journal clicking to do now brings up the correct page interesting behaviour. when already selected the todo then disabling journal, now both calendar and todo show the todo page. again undoing reverts and correct. from cli when opened from there org.kde.pim.kidentitymanagement: IdentityManager: There was no default identity.
