Description idoitprone 2017-03-01 20:13:09 UTC
I am just here to report that CAPS Key behave quite strangely on Xwayland.

lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: neon
Description: KDE neon Developer Edition
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial

Xwayland 2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.2 amd64

No third party ppas

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start plasma wayland
2. Turn on caps lock
3. open a new xwayland window like firefox
4. type something in the xwayland windows

Result:

You notice the input presses that the key presses is lower case instead of upper case.

Turn off caps lock changes the input to upper case while the rest of the system is lower case.

Desired result:

Xwayland windows should be upper case

Notes: this bug is semi unreliable to reproduce. I can reproduce it more often if I use the caps lock before opening an xwayland windows.

Fixed in XWayland 1.19. I told neon a million times that this needs upgrading.
