Description Raghavendra kamath 2017-02-26 07:00:07 UTC
Currently in Krita (3.1) user can add a guide to the page, this is a nice feature for comic creators wanting to add some guides to denote bleeds etc.

There are currently two things lacking in the guide system

1) Ability to input precise value to move or create grid. there needs to be an option to add new guide on a user inputted value or move a selected guide to new coordinate given by the user. these can be integrated in the guides section of the grids and guides docker

2)Ability to have guides support units such as cm, mm, in etc. Currently guides are added or get moved only on pixel unit, aligning a guide to say 1cm is hard as it gets snapped to pixel and pixel unit don't always align to other units. So this leads to guides which are not precise with respect to other units

Thank you

I'm not sure whether 2) is implementable -- there might be problems with snapping. We seem to remember that Dmitry actually removed that because of problems with subpixel precision. 1) is doable. Setting to wish.
