Description gordie.lachance+dev 2017-02-24 13:06:44 UTC
There is a contextual command "insert n frame left" and "insert n frame right" when right-clicking the top of the Timeline dock.

1 / I don't think two commands are useful for this, we could get rid of "insert n frame left" and rename "insert n frame right" to "insert n columns" (to match the existing "remove n column" command)
2 / This command should also be available when right-clicking a frame - and thud extend/reduce only the frames of a layer, not of the whole timeline.

This is very important to help timing animations.... Thanks !

I'm not sure we should remove one of these options.
The way I see it, usually user has a frame selected, and either want to add time before it (insert left), or make it longer (insert right).

But I agree with the second part: we need similar actions inside the timeline that would affect only current layer, or even better, only layers with frames included in the frames selection.

In my opinion,
"Add time before" means make previous frame longer.
From what i've seen, it's how animation software works,

You have indeed to select the previous frame for this, but it also
simplifies the software as there is less options available.

This request seems to be already part of krita as of version 4.2.8

Are we missing something?
