Description AE 2017-02-15 13:00:07 UTC
I've noticed this regression beginning with plasma 5.9.1. Only dragging the mouse cursor across the folder view on my desktop causes the plasmashell process to shoot up to 100% CPU usage, and icons light up with two or three seconds delay. Moving or resizing also has this kind of delay between action and consequence. Happens for both 'Desktop' mode and files mode. When clicking an icon to start a program, there is a delay, but not as severe. Using the UI elements in the bottom panel seems to be OK, there's no noticeable lag here.

Some system information:
Thinkpad T450s
Gentoo
xorg-server 1.19.1
xf86-video-intel 2.99.917_p20161206
mesa 13.0.0.4

Can't say we've seen this. Can you use debugging/profiling tools to find out more ...?

Turns out I had a misconfigured mesa built, i. e. it was my own damn fault. Please close this one.
