The offset can be seen here. The vertical line represents the furthest the brush will travel, the horizontal lines represent the furthest the brush will draw.

Recently got a XP-Pen Star05 graphics tablet and was hoping to use Krita with it but this is a pretty big hindrance. I only have access to about 2/3rds of the drawing area, as seen in the attachment. I tried the advice given on the FAQ but the screen resolutions and offsets reported by Qt and WinTab are both the same. It's a Win8 Laptop, using the built-in display only, so multiple displays are not an issue.

I've tried screwing around with the XP-Pen driver settings and the only thing that seemed to fix it was switching to "Tablet PC" mode, which restores Windows' infuriating ripple effect on clicks. I've had a couple of attempts where I briefly have access to the full drawing area on startup, but it quickly returns to the problematic behavior. Unsure if this has anything to do with switching away from the aforementioned Tablet PC mode. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the drivers and krita to no avail.

If there's anything I can do to help get to the bottom of this, or even anything I can do to fix it, I'd be glad to do whatever it takes, but I couldn't find any info about this elsewhere.

We had this discussion on irc today:

10:00:54 < Ivo> Actually boud I've found both on an amazon review, and on http://miamaha.deviantart.com/journal/XP-Pen-Star05-Wireless-Review-647485792
10:01:10 < Ivo> user was advised to try the Star04 driver
10:01:31 < Ivo> I've just tried the same and it cleared up the issue seemingly
10:03:05 < Ivo> Whoever has an account with kde, on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376383
10:03:06 < sKreamer> KDE bug 376383 in krita (tablet support) "XP-Pen tablet canvas completely offset from interface" [normal,] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376383
10:04:11 < Ivo> You could reply,

 A) Ask if they have a multiple monitor setup, I am guessing there's a chance it could be related to the issue; and

 B) Ask them to try work around of Uninstall "PenTablet" driver, reboot machine, and download/install the Star04 driver from XP-Pen's website

Could you check these points?

Tried your solution, and yep! Everything's working perfect now, even the hardware buttons are doing their intended jobs. The only thing I noticed was that pressure sensitivity wasn't working with that "penwalker" program open (one of the tablet buttons it by default with this driver) but closing it cleared it up right up.

Everything's working flawless now, thanks for the help!
