Plasma Shell has a useful new feature that opens the K menu when the Meta (Super/Tux) key is pressed alone. Note that users of Sticky Keys [1] always press modifier keys without other keys. Thus, when we press Meta and then another key, the K menu steals focus. Please disable the Meta-only opening of the K menu for users who have enabled Sticky Keys. Thank you. Is this really a duplicate? The consequence (disable modifier only keys) is the same in some situations (here stick keys enabled, other bug: extra systemsettings option for modifier only key), but the motivation is different. In this bug we have another feature of Plasma that is broken, by the modifier only keys. The other bug was just about personal preferences. Since the other bug is closed as WontFix this means, that this broken Plasma feature will be never fixed. -> should we reopen this or the other bug then?
Accessibility keys will have to move into KWin anyway. When that is done, then KWin could actually handle the conflict between the Launcher key setting and the Sticky key setting. But for now, I see no other solution than disabling the KWin launcher feature. Adding KWin maintainer to double check.
Oh, I just noticed that you actually reported the duplicate...
The intention is that on sticky keys the modifier only short cut does not trigger. At least for Wayland I tried to implement that, unfortunately I utterly failed figuring out how to enable sticky keys. On X11 the problem is that we actually ignore the keyboard layout. I hope that once we have https://phabricator.kde.org/T5222 implemented this would resolve this issue.
On Wayland currently i get - "kcmaccess" should not be loaded. This bug was reported against an outdated version of KWin. We have made many changes since the. If the issue persists in newer versions can you reopen the bug report updating the version number.
