Description Ben Stanley 2017-02-10 18:09:13 UTC
When I start up Umbrello, Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library complains

This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Platform:
Windows 7 x64 (up-to-date)
Umbrello 2.21.1 for Windows

In the bug header there is mentioned 2.21.0 - In case you are using 2.12.0 you should update to 2.12.1 and retest because in 2.21.0 there is a bug which may let the application crash often.
Comment 2 Ben Stanley 2017-02-13 20:21:37 UTC
I reported 2.21.0 because 2.21.1 was not in the list.

The observations are for 2.21.1.

Ben.

To be able to get some more informations it would be nice if you would download and install drmingw from https://github.com/jrfonseca/drmingw.

Additional to get symbols it is required to download umbrello debug symbols with the same architecture as installed umbrello from http://download.kde.org/stable/umbrello/2.21.2/win32/ (debug symbols are in the *debug.7z packages) and unpack them in the umbrello install root e.g. the directory where the bin dir is located)

Now you can run umbrello and if it crashes drmingw will open a related windows. Please copy and paste this content to this bug.

To get even more informations you can download dbgview from https://download.sysinternals.com/files/DebugView.zip. Unpack the file and start dbgview before starting umbrello. It will reports umbrello's internal debug messages.

I have been able to reproduce the problem with umbrello installed by
umbrello-x86_64-w64-mingw32-2.21.2.e8cad8d-33.1-1.1-setup.exe
but only once, and only when "Trend Micro Internet Security" Version 11.0 was enabled.

Subsequent attempts to reproduce have failed, even with "Trend Micro Internet Security" disabled (Real-time Scanning turned OFF).

When the error occurs, drmingw is not invoked (although I did install it).
