digiKam 4.12 is a very old version of digiKam (3 year ago). We are now in 5.4.0 with more than 400 bugs fixes since 4.X release. If your Linux disto do not provide a most recent version, use AppImage linux bundle that we provide. See download page from digikam.org. Gilles Caulier

Can you make a screenshot or screencast? We had a similar behavior (is fixed) a long time ago when the thumbnail view was sorted by date. The problem I have never seen here again and is also not to reproduce. Maik

Created attachment 104031 [details] attachment-489-0.html Ok,all is good. the 3.5 database must have been corrupt, still worked, but corrupt.1. new tag to replace existing tag 2. filter with old tag, select all, assign new tag and remove old tag3. delete old tag note: in every tag replaced, the old tag reported more photo's tagged than should have.rebuild the database 4. assign tag to photo5. delete tags in database6. get tags from photo'stag view functions as it should, all is goodThank you!!
