Description Adam Pigg 2017-02-05 21:03:03 UTC
Ok, I filed this against coreaddons as I cant think where else to file it.

Symptoms
When a Nitro Key Pro is inserted after logging in, KDE applications start to miss keyboard events. Something like only 1 in 10 is handled.

Seems to affect multiple applications, for me, konsole, kate, konverstaion and plasma-shell are the primary ones.

Closing the application and starting it with the nitro key in gets the application working again.

Does not seem to effect gtk apps (gimp) or Qt apps (scribus) or chrome.

This is on a skylake laptop, unsure if the same applies to other hardware.

If the nitrokey is installed on startup then apps are ok.

If the nitrokey is re-inserted after the app has been restarted, then the app also works ok.

Is this still a problem?

No, it doesnt seem to be an issue any more. Perhaps some kernel update fixed it over the last few years!
