Description daniel.armbrust.list 2017-02-05 04:36:43 UTC
After "upgrading" from 5.7 to 5.8, I can no longer move windows on 1 of my 3 monitors, and the task manager can't seem to keep track of which window it is on, as it won't show any tasks unless I turn off the window-based filters.

See https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=136728 for more details.

My monitors are arranged with 1 on top, and two monitors below, slightly offset to the right.

Like the above. With a panel containing a task bar at the bottom of each window.

Monitor 1 works fine. Monitor 3 works fine for move/resize - except that the task bar keeps getting confused about which monitor it is on, and won't show any apps unless I turn off the per-monitor filter.

Monitor 2 does not allow me to move any windows, and the task bar also shows nothing unless I turn off the per-monitor filter.

Same issue here. As mentioned in the forum post by the OP this is affected by the panel location. I have a dual monitor setup: The primary monitor at the top with bottom panel, the secondary monitor at the bottom.

When I try to drag a Qt application from the primary monitor to the secondary monitor, it gets stuck when my mouse reaches the panel. I can't move it further. I can move the window to the secondary by holding Alt+Dragging. But once the window is on the second monitor I cannot move it at all by dragging the title bar, only Alt+Dragging works.

Interestingly the above works absolutely fine with Gtk based apps. Also if I move the panel to the top (so it no longer sits between the two monitors) this again starts working for Qt apps.

I will attach a screencast demonstrating the issue.

I've just tried to reproduce this issue on Plasma from git master and I cannot.

I set my second monitor above my first and was able to move windows between them with a panel at the bottom of my second monitor.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved, thanks.
