Description Mónica Almeida 2017-01-30 13:28:33 UTC
Gwenview has been my favorite Viewer since I installed Linux. It worked perfectly in Ubuntu, but since i changed to Linux Mint, it started to crash. With the last Mint version, which I'm currently using, it opens but doesn't work. I can't do anything with it. But I really would love to keep using Gwenview since it does something that I need that no other viewer that I tried does. Any suggestions?

If it crashes, could you please add the backtrace for the crash? For more information, please see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

It is best to simply add the backtrace as a comment here.

But what is the backtrace? :) (I'm a dummie in Linux :P)

Gwenview simply doesn't work ... it shows no error message ...

Do you get the crash dialog? See https://community.kde.org/Bugsquad/Basic_Guide_about_Crash_Reporting

If not, please try starting "gwenview" from Konsole and add the output in the Konsole window as a comment.

No response, changing status.

Unless we have new information, we can only assume that the packagers of your distribution made a mistake in the Gwenview packages. Gwenview works fine in several distributions.

I suggest to report this isse to the bug tracker of your distribution.
