Description T. Narol 2017-01-29 21:45:31 UTC
Hello,

I'm using digikam on Ubuntu 16.04 with kipi-plugins updated

sudo apt-get install digikam kipi-plugins
digikam is already the newest version (4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7).
kipi-plugins is already the newest version (4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7).

Since maybe January 26th 2017 the upload to Google Photos has stopped working. Things happen as usual, no error message, but the pictures are not uploaded.

I suspect Google has once again stopped supporting some parts of the API.

Can you please have a look ?
Thanks

Forget digiKam 4.x and switch to last 5.4.0 which must have this problem fixed since a while.

You can use the last Linux universal AppImage bundle available in download section :

Hello,

I just tried with version 5.4.0 the problem is the same. The plugin is able to connect to the Google Photos account and discover the existing albums, import pictures from existing albums... But after uploading a picture I can't find it in the album.

This is a new thing. I've been uploading hundreds of pictures this way in the past, working perfectly.

My guess is that it is caused by a recent change in Google Photos API.

Best regards

Problem is not to reproduce here, the upload works as expected. The new pictures are in the albums. Maybe there is no more storage space in the Google Photo account?

Just tested here too. No problem to upload data on GDrive or GPhoto.

Hello,

I checked it was not storage space. I was able to upload pictures to the same account same album using the web browser interface.

Just now I checked again and it is working.

This is weird... Anyways problem solved for now you can forget about this bug.
