Description NW 2017-01-29 11:06:08 UTC
Hi,

there's only a dark window decoration. Could you please also add a light decoration?

Hi,
Thanks for posting;

Now, I am not sure that I understand what you mean ? The colors of the decorations are controlled by the general color settings. If you use breeze-dark color scheme, you get a dark decoration. If you use breeze light, you get a light.
You can also customize the colorscheme, to get any combination you want.

Or do i miss something ?

Best,

Hugo

Nope, not the case here. Running KDE Neon 5.8.5 and the window decoration (title bar) is always dark. It only becomes light when the window does not have focus. When the window has focus, it's dark, even when the color is set to "Breeze" instead of "Breeze Dark" in System Settings -> Color.

I have set Color, Desktop Theme, Look and Feel to Breeze. Yet the window decorations (titlebar) is still dark.

Ahhh, now I see, you can change/customize this in System Settings -> Colors -> Edit Scheme -> Active Titlebar.

However, why do I have to do this?

Why doesn't it change to a light color by default when using Breeze instead of Breeze Dark?

The dark background for the active window title in the breeze-light decoration is a design choice, decided to make the active window more easily distinguishable from the inactive ones.

Any chance you could change that?

Not really no.

Change that and one will immediately get bug reports about "active window" is not distinguishable from "inactive".

Can't make everybody happy at once with the defaults. that's why we have so many customization options.

I don't think so. There already is a very good indicator to show if the window is active or not: The text and the buttons in the title bar become grayed out on inactive windows. It's done like that for many other DE's as well as other OSes, so that's actually what the expected behavior would be.

See above. You already have the text and the buttons become grayed out for inactive windows, that's enough to distinguish it.

So, to summarize:
you are not convince by my arguments, and I am not convinced by yours.

There are ways in the current code to satisfy your need without affecting the (default) experience of others, so closing as wont fixed, sory.

Hugo
