Description J-o-h-n- 2017-01-28 07:35:25 UTC
This is kind of a feature request. Even though digiKam just recent became able to manage video and audio files as well as photos, perhaps it would be nice to have a "feature" to not scan for video and audio files but only scan for photos. Besides, digiKam is still marketed as:
Manage your photographs like a professional, with the power of open source

Its not 'manage your media like a professional.'

Fixed with next 6.0.0 release which integrate a new video metadata parser based
on FFMPEg instead Exiv2. Now, video can be managed really as photo and there is no more Exiv2 crash comming from video file parsing process to populate the database.
