Description Rafael Linux User 2017-01-28 05:03:52 UTC
I generated several files in JP2 file format with Digikam, but Gwenview doesn't see them or even show them.

Please, add support for JP2 files

Do you have the Qt5ImageFormats plugins installed? If unsure, please ask in a forum of your distribution for exact package names.
Comment 2 Christoph Feck 2017-01-30 21:37:19 UTC
Additional info: Your distribution may need to manually enable JP2 support (via jasper libraries) in QtImageFormats, because the jasper library was no longer maintained upstream. Some distributions already use recent jasper libraries which have several security issues fixed and enabled jasper support again.

See http://doc-snapshots.qt.io/qt5-5.8/qtimageformats-index.html

My Linux is OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. Looking at repositories, there is no one file name Qt5ImageFormats. That filename is not in any package.
I'm using Gwenview 16.12.0
KDE Frameworks 5.29.0
Qt 5.7.1 (compiled with 5.7.0)
Windows system xcb

I have libopenjp2 installed, but jasper is NOT installed. Is neccesary to install "jasper" then?

I'm sorry, but I don't know what to do after reading your comment and the information in the hyperlink. So, what do I do now? Install "jasper" or wait till a new update?

Thank you
