I updated my server from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 and now telepathy cannot connect anymore. All other clients like Adium on mac or xabber on Android connect without a problem.

Can I help somehow with logfiles?

The error message in the system tray is always:

There was a problem while trying to connect jabberuser@domain.tld - Authentication of your account failed (is your password correct?)

But honestly, my password is typed correctly ;-)

Can I dig more into deep to find the problem and post some kind of backtrace or debug here? How? (I use kubuntu 17.04)

In the meantime I have to use kopete...
