Application: kwin (4.11.20) KDE Platform Version: 4.14.9 Qt Version: 4.8.6 Operating System: Linux 3.16.7-53-desktop x86_64 Distribution: "openSUSE 13.2 (Harlequin) (x86_64)" -- Information about the crash: Sometimes my system runs without desktop effects, In the system configuration I've found that the composition type was set to XRender rather than OpenGL. I tried to reset it to OpenGL and then the system crashed. This behaviour is replicable almost 100% of cases. The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: KWin (kwin), signal: Aborted Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1". To be more precise: when I switch the composition type to OpenGL (usually 3.0, but the same result is also if I select 2.0 or 1.1) and press "Apply", the system opens a General tab with a warning that the OpenGL had caused the system crash and asking if I want to rediscover the OpenGL. When I press the rediscovery button, KWin crashes - most often, although sometimes it does not crash and since then the effects begin do work normally.
I'm sorry, but the 4.x version is no longer supported by us. Please consider upgrading.
