In version 5.4.0 I have frequent crashes while applying face tags after a face scan operation.

I could not find a pattern, it seems to happen quite randomly. This didn't happen in 5.3.0

Please use current 5.5.0 AppImage bundle instead system version to see if problem is reproducible.

Seems fixed in last 5.5.0 AppImage
