Description Philippe ROUBACH 2017-01-21 06:35:30 UTC
opensuse 42.2 x86_64
korganizer5 5.3.0
libkf5gapicalendar5 5.3.1

i get no problem to sync from korganizer to google calendar
but
no sync from google calendar to korganizer

it's a pity, no problem with opensuse 13.1 and the old akonadi google calendar backend
Comment 1 Philippe ROUBACH 2017-03-29 10:06:02 UTC
In a VM I experimented this:
opensuse leap 42.2 updated with the folowing repos:
KDE Extra
KDE Applications -16.12
KDE Framework5 - 5.32
Qt5 - 5.9

no sync problem for kaddressbook
no sync problem for korganizer

Then
I do same update with my current opensuse but no success.

Be careful I broke:
Calibre (I had to install the binary flavor supplied by calibre team)
Digikam (I had to revert to marble 16.08)
all apps using kipiplugins. I had to revert to kipiplugins 16.08

I created again akonadi google contacts and calendar then all is synced but after again I get sync problem.

I assume something is broken in my akonadi data at an upper level.
It is necessary to delete /home/roubach/.local/share/akonadi/
In future I will experiment this.
Comment 2 Philippe ROUBACH 2017-03-29 15:24:18 UTC
Be careful.

after deleted data
for kmail
for all accounts
for receiving
security protocol was not goo. id and pw protocol was not good.i use "automatic detection" to restore.
for sending
security protocol was not good. i use "automatic detection" to restore.
for one account path to inbox was not good
Comment 3 Philippe ROUBACH 2017-03-29 15:29:36 UTC
problem is not solved!

it remains to delete ~/config/akonadi/

i will experiment this later.

Yesterday there was an update of KDE Applications to 17.03.

Today I experiment there is no more sync problem from G calendar to korganizer.

@Michael
can you confirm this?
Comment 6 Diego 2017-05-04 14:24:43 UTC
I have the same problem.

Which is the component I should check the version?
Comment 7 Philippe ROUBACH 2017-05-05 05:41:46 UTC
@diego

use your software manager to search if kontact package and all kde pim suite packages(akregator, kmail, kaddressbook, korganizer, knotes) version is 17.03 or sooner as for example 17.04.

note: i don't speak about application version but package version.

I'm currently using KOrganizer5 Version 17.04.3 in Gentoo Stable. Installing libgcal Version 0.9.6-r1 seems to have fixed the problem in my case. Prior to installing libgcal, events entered in KOrganizer5 would show up in Google Calendar in a Web browser, but events entered in Google Calendar in a Web browser would never show up in KOrganizer5 even with the Refresh Interval set correctly in KOrganizer (I normally have it set to 10 minutes).

Actually, I'm not so sure now that libgcal made any difference. I subsequently un-installed it to check, and events entered in Google Calendar via a Web browser still show up in KOrganizer5 after the applicable refresh interval has elapsed.

This bug also affects me (Manjaro KDE + korganizer 17.04.3).
Comment 12 Philippe ROUBACH 2017-08-22 22:24:12 UTC
there is no problem with 42.3.
for those using opensuse 42.2 i advise you to upgrade to 42.3 but not by using update tool but by installing from 0 the 42.3. this does not touch you home partition. you must install again non default apps.

remember make a backup.

i do this for a friend using 42.2.

in my case i must add this info.
- to solve the problem i use 4 auxiliary repos :
KDE Extra
KDE Applications
KDE Framework5
Qt5

i do not advise this solution. even if you are an expert because You should expect other problems:
- until version17.08 I met only one problem with the 17.04.90 kmail not functional for almost a week.

- see comment # 1
