My system has 1 wallet that has a different name than 'kdewallet'. This is the default wallet, as set in KWalletManager. Most applications succesfully store their passwords in this wallet. Not KRDC. KRDC tries to store the passwords in 'kdewallet' and fails, as that wallet does not exist. Upon initiating a remote connection (with the Remember password (KWallet) option ticked) KWalletService notice 1: "The application 'KRDC' has requested to open the wallet 'kdewallet'. Please enter the password for this wallet below." Any password then leads to: "Error opening the wallet 'kdewallet'. Please try again. (Error code -9: Read error - possibly incorrect password.)" KRDC should pick the default KWallet to store the passwords (like eg, Chrome, Kontakt and most other applications do)
version is 4.14.16 on ubuntu xenial.
(In reply to Reinier Battenberg from comment #1) > version is 4.14.16 on ubuntu xenial. maybe that should read kubuntu?
KRDC is not ported to KF5 yet, so it will use the old KDE4 wallet.
Thank you for reporting this bug in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!
I tried to reproduce this on Kubuntu 22.10 and krdc is now picking the correct wallet.
