Description thilo 2017-01-12 05:32:27 UTC
Dear KDE team,
dear KDEnline programmers,

I am really angry. And frustrated.
I am sitting for 10 hours due to problems with kdenlive...
first of all, I got the error message "no valid clip to process" and so on, then the mlt version with Linux Mint 18.0 did not match... when using the kdenlive 16.07 or so, I tried to find New Render Profiles, and the database was not reachable.

And I searched and looked 5 hours for getting informations about a Youtube mp4 full HD profile, no one can be found (the last year, it was possible and easily downloadable), and my project settings of full HD with 1920x1080p and 25 frames/sec, a custom set is maximized to 1440x1080, below is a Preview Profile with DNxHD 1080p 25 fps, x.264 is a MPEG4 Codec, but cannot be adjusted in Full HD, hell (sorry) If you are no kdenlive specialist and an expert in coding, how will you get kdenlive working with full HD, 25 fps, file format mp4? I don't want a m2t file, I want an mp4 file!

why is that so difficult?

If I start Openshot, I can easily export a mp4 file in Full HD, 1080p, 25 fps... But I don't want to use Openshot, I want to use KDEnlive! It is better, I've got more possibilities, I can see the render time, and so on.

I thought Linux wants to get easier and better, and more useable not only for experts?
kdenlive was easier to go with youtube about a year before :-/

disappointed, still in anger, hungry ( the night killed with kdenlive problems which didn't exist last year, nothing in my stomach).

thanks for your prompt workaround and help!

thilo.

sorry friend, i always render 1080p 24fps without any problems... so you are using 1080p 25fps footage right? did you set the project settings to be that?

Due to lack of response I'm closing this. I have to admit that I don't get what the problem of the original reporter really is and why it is so difficult to click on MP4 and then render. Or is this a problem with the project settings? Then what is the problem with clicking on Resolution: Custom, and then chosing 1440x1080?

Alas, such problems are proper on G+ and forum, but they are not a bug report. Especially when the report is mainly a rant which doesn't help fixing bugs in any way.

Dear Kde bugfixers,

I cannot understand why someone removed those settings that were last year still existing. It is not easy going or configurabke. I have manually set 1920x1080, not 1440x1080 - don't know that resolution - and Youtube tells after downloading, there are wrong still. settings. I am no configuration expert for setting special details, there should be an expert who does that regularly and is well informed about best configurations for youtube movies.
