Have sddm as display manager active, logoff until you see the login screen, then close the laptop lid (send laptop to sleep)
Wait for some time (~15min)
Open laptop lid, sddm greeter is displayed.

But, there is no mouse and no keyboard active, not even the cursor in the password field is blinking.

Workaround: Alt-F2 to go to another shell, as root restart the sddm.service
Then switch back to Alt-F1, sddm is working as expected (mouse ok, keyboard ok)

Happens on lenovo t440 and t420, both intel graphics

If you are at the SDDM login screen, then you're not (at that time) running Plasma.

It's not our bug, sorry.
