Maybe... Though it would make the history also less linear, and therefore less clear. We'd have to for instance reverse the order in RTL languages.

Yeah, some dynamic sorting mechanism to show most used presents first, would not be a bad idea - still, I miss abit the grid view, because you see everything in a shot - also because krita has a nice tool thumbnail preview, identification is easy, even in grid view, imo.
