Using packet kontact-16.12.0-1.1 After right clicking on the top bar and choosing More actions, I click on Special Window Settings, which opens a KWin dialog. In the dialog in the tab "Size & Position" I check Position and Size and in the drop down field for both "Apply Initially" is chosen and leaving the size and position unaltered, because the window is already on the desired location. Closing the window and starting it again does position the window on the specified location.

When I do this the window is located on the right side of the screen. When I close the window and start kontact again, the windows appears on the left side of the screen. At first the popup for the password comes up in the center of the screen. Shortly after that, while I am entering the password, a second popup shows which is shifted more to the left. I just continue typing where dots appear in the first popup. The second popup just shows the dots of the characters I typed before that. Both disappear after completing the password and pressing Enter. Currently using kontact-16.12.1-1.1 = kontact 5.4.1
Using kontact version 16.12.3 this problem is still present. The kontact window is set to use the right part of the screen. After starting kontact the popup asking for the password is in the center of the screen. Shortly after that, behind this popup, the borders of kontact are painted on the screen, however not on the right side of the screen, but on the left side. Within these borders the right side of the screen, as it was (with the background image), appears in these borders, shortly after that repainted with the content kontact should show.
Using package kontact-17.04.1 or kontact 5.5.1 still the same problem.
Still in kontact 5.5.2.
