Reported by turcovadio in comment on another bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370708): For an unknown reason, the disk of my computer became repeatedly full. At that time, I exported selected alarms as a way to restore Kalarm, in case of the alarms being wiped out. But last time I imported the saved alarms, there was inconsistencies that prevented the import. I needed to delete all the files related to my alarms in order to import the saved ones. The operation of import of saved alarms should be improved.
A further report by steffie at https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=229&t=138128: Every attempt I made to export my existing, good, alarms from one pc, in order to [I'd hoped] import them into KAlarm in my other pc, failed with an error msg... it was unhelpful, saying only that it could not export, but not saying why.
The error trying to save exported alarms has now been fixed (commit cd7abb45b6105da236cc5940e32256ba8b4fb8f2). The fix will be in KAlarm version 2.11.12, which will be released in KDE Applications 16.12.1. The import error still needs investigation.
I tried importing alarms, but couldn't see any fault. turcovadio: Can you please give some details about what went wrong when you tried to import alarms. Ideally, if you could attach your current calendar file and a calendar file you tried to import, that would make investigation easier.
Greetings, is this bugs's status still unconfirmed ? How is it going to be dealt with ? Thank you. Filippo
You should close the report of the bug, due to the kalarm programmers changed the way as was saved (exported) the alarms. The other reason was I couldn't replicate the bug. Thanks
