Created attachment 103056 [details] screenshot when playing a video gwenview (version 5.12.3) hangs when playing mp4 vidos and shows only e gray display, but it doesn't crash. While hanging, it doesn't produce I/O and doesn't need CPU; process state is "sleeping" After hitting Escape, gwenview returns in "view mode" and you can continue displaying pictures.
This sounds like it might be caused by the lack of an adqauate video codec. Can you confirm that you can play the file in Dolphin's information pane?
