Hi,

kwin always crashes when an OSD pop-up is displayed to notify the user that the touchpad has been switched on or off.

Here is how to reproduce this crash:

 * if your laptop has a key to activate or deactivate the touchpad, use this key

 * if not:
   - turn on this setting: Input Devices -> Touchpad -> Enable/Disable Touchpad -> Disable touchpad when mouse is plugged in
   - plug a mouse

This is with Neon packages as of today:

Package: kwin-x11
Version: 4:5.8.4+p16.04+git20161225.1132-0

Getting a backtrace is difficult because:
 1. drkonqi does not display anything useful
 2. a crash file is created in /var/crash/ and I do not know how to extract information from this file.

I tried to get a backtrace by attaching gdb to the kwin_x11 process before the crash but I got nothing this way.

The best I could do is a screenshot from apport with the full backtrace, so here it is.

I confirm that sound OSD also crashes kwin therefore this is the same bug.
