Hi, here are steps to reproduce the bug: 1. open a konsole window (it should not be maximized, neither vertically nor horizontally) 2. use kwin to snap it to the left half of the screen 3. log out 4. log in Observed result: the restored konsole window has the same geometry as after step 1. Expected result: the restored konsole window should have the same geometry as after step 2. PS: sorry if this is not a kwin bug. This is with neon packages as of today: Package: kwin-x11 Version: 4:5.8.4+p16.04+git20161225.1132-0
This bug also exists in Kubuntu 17.04 with this package version: Package: kwin Version: 4:5.9.4-0ubuntu1
Sometimes position/size of Konsole window is restoring if Restore previous session is enabled in Desktop Session - but very often not. If Start with an empty session is enabled - very often only size of Konsole window is preserved. Sometimes when tiling to 50% of screen - Konsole window is restored only in 25% of screen. Also sometimes geometry state for previous logout (not recent one) of Konsole window is restored Plasma: 5.12.4 Apps: 17.12.4 Frameworks: 5.44.0 Qt: 5.10.1 Kernel: 4.14.32-1-MANJARO OS: Netrunner Rolling Video: Intel 4400 Driver: xf86-video-intel 1:2.99.917+823+gd9bf46e4-1 Screen: 1600x900
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 325566 ***
This is actually not a duplicate of the other bug. Bug #325566 is about re-applying the original geometry when dragging a window, which is in a tiled state. This bug is about session restoration and applying the last tiled / floating state and geometry.
