Description Raghavendra kamath 2016-12-21 18:42:49 UTC
This bug report is about UI glitches or alignment problems that I have encountered so far. I have encountered only three as of now, but I will be updating this bug report if I encounter some more.

following are some of the GUI small bugs I encountered

1) the "autosaving" text that appears ate the left hand side bottom on status bar overlaps the brush name or masking type button

2) the progress bar shown in the layer stack is over the lock , inherit alpha and transparency lock icon. making the progress bar somewhat illegible

3) Active status of the selection modes in the tool option of any selection tool are not following the theme. They are in reverse. for example if you have selected the Replace selection mode you'll see that it remains unhighlighted like normal icon in normal state whilst other mode remain highlighted with blue this is somewhat confusing for the user.

I will add more as and when I find such small nit picks while working. I request that these small small things to be ironed out to maintain the look and feel and consistency

Right! We'll probably also need a corresponding phabricator task in the stable workboard.

I am working on a patch to take care of the selection display and the layer progress bar. I attached what I have so far for the progress bar. We can probably get away with just showing the bar since there is so much stuff going on in the layers docker. I think the area under the layer name is a good amount of space to show it.

We can tweak it further if needed.

@ scott, this is indeed a nice idea,i like it.

As a nitpick, i think the bar can be slightly thinner so that the layer name and it doesn't stick to each other and there is some spacing

I am going to mark this resolved as I think all these are taken care of in git master. If any of these are still an issue could you open a new ticket? This ticket has 3 different improvements which will makes it a bit more difficult to read through if it is re-opened.

Yes sure.
