Description Erik Quaeghebeur 2016-12-19 08:24:26 UTC
I updated to 5.8.4 from 5.8.3 for the multiscreen fixes. However, after the update, the plain single color backgrounds, one color each for each of my activities, were replaced by the stock background image. I thought this was an upgrade issue, re-applied my plain color backgrounds (which did not go smoothly, but that's not the issue here). After restarting, some activities kept their plain color, some had their plain color background replaced by the stock image, and some took on the plain color of the activity active upon login.

Expected behavior: desktop background settings are consistently remembered across restarts of the desktop.

FWIW: Qt 5.6.2, i915 driver on 4.8.14 kernel.

Same problem with 5.8.3 here.
Comment 2 Erik Quaeghebeur 2017-01-09 08:29:27 UTC
Persists with 5.8.5.

Can't reproduce in:

Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition - Stable Branches
Plasma: 5.11.4
Frameworks: 5.41.0
Qt: 5.9.3
Kernel 4.10.0-40-generic
Type: 64-bit

Tried 8 activities with each different plain color

I haven't had the issue consistently anymore either, although recently I did get something like it again, although it could have been a version of Bug 373880.

Pl 5.10.5, KF 5.37, Qt 5.7.1.

Closing this WAITINGFORINFO until someone reports it to still be present.
