I can only save in .kra.  No other file format will save, and instead the program crashes. I have tried saving in Tiff, PSD, ORA, and PDF.  I NEED the layers to be saved (so no png or jpeg), and the only format that will not crash is .kra, and kra won't load in photoshop

Hi Eli,

I've never heard of this issue before :-(. Could you please try the latest nightly build from https://ci.appveyor.com/project/alvinhochun/krita/build/artifacts and if that also crashes, follow the instructions in https://docs.krita.org/Dr._Mingw_debugger to get a backtrace? I'm pretty sure there is something weird locally on your system, but I'd like to get to the bottom of it...

I'd also like to know which version of Windows you have and whether you've got security software installed like non-standard antivirus scanners or things like sandboxie.

Can you please check if this issue is reproducible in the latest version of krita.

Since there is now reply on this bug report since 2016, for now I am closing this, if you still have the same issue, please feel free to re-open this issue.
