In Krita v 3.01 and 3.1 I created text in multiline mode using black text on transparent background. Days later I went back to change a word to upper-case letters. I selected the word (which became white letters on a blue/gray background. I changed the word to uppercase but when I went to work on other layers, while the word was correct in upper case, it remained white letters against the blue/gray background.
Hi John, We know the text tool, to put it mildly, is not good... It comes originally from Calligra Words, with which we shared the code. It's probably fine for a real word processor, but it's not a good fit for Krita, and it's rather buggy. We've done a fund raiser in 2016 to replace it wholesale, and that work is supposed to start early next year, after we've done refactoring the vector tools and adding Python scripting.
Created attachment 102976 [details] attachment-32056-0.html One very good text feature about Krita is that the text for all the captions and dialog can be put on just a single layer. i hope you will keep that feature. Yes, that won't change: vector layers will stay vector layers and can contain any number of vector objects.
We just merged the new text tool.
