(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: knode Version: 0.6.1 (using KDE 2.2.2 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: FreeBSD Ports Compiler: gcc 2.95.3 OS: FreeBSD OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified You all know tin. Tin has only one "screen" open at any time in the very beginning you have group list screen then you enter into some group with "->" key. In this screen you see articles and threads of them and can enter into them for obvious reason - to read 'em! You can go all the way back with "<-" key step-by-step. That's what I'm missing I don't need several windows with group list article list and article content open at the same time. If you ever seen and used tin then you know what I demand. So why not use tin and get done? Because I'm tired of multilanguage problems and want switch to Unicode (UTF-8) entirely tin at this time well isn't very good. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application KDE Version OS Compiler manually changed)
I think this is a good idea. This is impartially implemented by Settings-> Show group/article/header view. However, it is noot very good now. There could be "Show only article view" etc. actions and keybindings for them. To emulate tin the key bindings can not be fixed but context-aware (one key gets back to header view from article view, then the same key gets back to group view from header view). But ordinary keybindings would be enough to get the advantage of having all the space for one thing. BTW, I'm accustomed to tin's back-to-previous-view behaviour, but still it sometimes confuses me. Ordinary key bindings could be even better.
[Mass change for wishlist between year 2002 and 2003] KNode is no longer maintained.
