Color Split would be actually similar to layer split
but you can limit the split to a chosen color,and only THAT color gets removed.


By design i think it would be necessary that it can be applied to a range of selected frames,cause needing to do it one by one ,while possible will need a lot of tweaking before you can merge the extracted layers down again.


So it will have to extract the picked color,only one, according to a fuzzy factor (like similar color selector wand) and put it into a new layer 


This would be a very powerful tool to reuse work that is already done.
