Description 3ndymion 2016-12-12 08:32:07 UTC
In trying out KDE again & trying to change my user avatar, I discovered that this new User Manager imposes a new restriction on the system. Specifically, it's this:

"The user name must start with a letter."

I guess I'm probably the only person that would run into this. : ( I use my screen name on my computer as well. The older versions of KDE (& Fedora) never had an issue with this.

I realize that I can still use "kcmshell4 useraccount" to change the avatar, but that method is already long deprecated. I don't want to end up getting locked out. I think that whatever /etc/passwd can understand should be acceptable to User Manager as well.

May I request that this new restriction be lifted??? I'll like, love you guys forever, or something. ^_^
