I'm trying to set up digikam for a small work group.
The images are located on a common, mounted nas.
The problem is, I can't set up a database locally. Therefore I would like to run the mysql-server on my hosted server and connect over the Internet. But this solution is unacceptable slow. So I figured out, that the bottle leak is probably loading the thumbnails. My question is, if there is a way to store the thumbnails in a local sqllite database and just load the core-database over the Internet.
