i am on 15.08.3 debian unstable Linux (x86_64) release 4.9.0-2-amd64 google account I see the same kind of behavior on opening a chat window. steps: click ctrl+f2 type 'online' # this autoloads the instant messaging icon in the system tray then i click on system tray icon and click go online. the contact list populates as expected. I click on a contact and the chat window pops up blank like reported by original bug reporter. Now if I go and click on a new contact again (same or different) while that blank window is up the window then shows up correctly for the contact I clicked. Once the window is showing the contact correctly, clicking on other contacts brings up subsequent tabs in the window correctly as expected.
