Description hoea 2016-11-27 18:23:53 UTC
* klick on file in dolphin
  * kate opens

* klick on same file again
  * kate opens second tab

You end up with two tabs for the same file. If you edit both of them it, you get
strange messages about

* klick on file in dolphin
  * kate opens
  * edit

* klick on same file again
  * kate opens second tab
  * message "file was not saved regulary" (Translation from my de-Environment)
  * choice "reload" -- files are in sync

* edit both tabs
  * save first tab -- ok
  * save second tab -- "file was changed by external program"

same behavior on mint 18-kde (kate 15.12.3) and gentoo (16.08)

Matteo are you able to test with a new user to confirm it's not a configuration setting that has been changed.

I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" when you respond, thanks.
