Log after a fresh system start when K menu is not available

Sometimes K menu or system notifications stop being shown. Visual clues in task bar indicate that those should be visible but actually they aren't. Issue is hard to reproduce as it happens randomly at times when system has high load and K menu or notification should be shown. K menu and system notifications can disappear both or only one of them.

dmesg and Xorg.log files have no new entries, attaching xsession-errors as there is something, still there is nothing obvious.

Screenshot displaying issue

In this screenshot is shown situation when both - K menu and system notifications are shown. As it is visible, in this case only notifications actually are visible.
This is a single monitor system.

I managed to find out exact steps to reproduce the issue:
0. if you do not have virtual desktops, enable them to have at least two;
1. open K menu or notification or klipper tray menu or battery monitor info panel (just left click on almost any of systray icons except KMix)
2. switch to other virtual desktop (by clicking on virtual desktop switcher or using CTRL + Fx key combo = both works)
3. observe how notification/systray menu/k menu (whatever was open) disappears and it is not possible to get it back.

I have the same problem for a month or two. It happened so rarely and randomly that I couldn't find out whats going on but thanks to the steps provided by Māris Nartišs its reproducible.

Basically switching to a different virtual-desktop, with the application-menu or a tray pop-up open, makes them disappear until relog.
When switching desktops via shortcuts (next/previous desktop) it can take a few switches for the bug to appear but when switching with the pager-plasmoid it always happens.

Just restarting kwin (kwin_x11 --replace) does not fix it.

Cannot reproduce this bug in:

Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition - Stable Branches
Plasma: 5.11.3
Frameworks: 5.41.0
Qt: 5.9.2
Kernel 4.10.0-38-generic
Type: 64-bit

Unfortunately I do not have frameworks 5.41 to test, but the issue is still present with:
plasma-5.39.0
plasma-desktop-5.11.2
kwindowsystem-5.39.0
kwin-5.11.2
Linux kernel 4.13.1
Qt 5.9.2

Cannot reproduce. Does this still happen to you in either Plasma 5.18 (the current LTS version) or Plasma 5.21 (the latest released version)?
Comment 7 Māris Nartišs 2021-03-09 06:05:23 UTC
Can not reproduce any more.

Plasma desktop 5.19.5
Frameworks 5.74.0a
